He played the 2011 season in independent ball with the Worcester Tornadoes (Canadian-American Association). Traded by the Red Sox to the Cardinals along with Luis Garcia (1B) and Dustin Brisson (1B) in exchange for Dustin Hermanson (RHP) in December 2001. Fun Fact
Red Sox owner John Henry owned a small interest in the rival New York Yankees in 1991 prior to becoming the sole owner of the Florida Marlins in 1999. He became the Red Sox owner in 2002. Henry also owns Liverpool Football Club in the English Premier League having bought the team in 2010.
