2000 Edmonton Trappers

2000 Edmonton Trappers (63-78 Record) Affiliation: Anaheim Angels

The most notable player from 2000 would be Scot Shields who made 27 starts with a record of 7-13 with a 5.41 ERA. The former 38th round pick of the Angels in the 1997 draft has gone on to appear in 491 Major League games all with the Angels compiling a record of 46-44 with a 3.11 ERA and 21 saves over his 10 year career. 
  

Dominican right-hander Ramon Ortiz spent 2 seasons with the Trappers going a combined 11-9 with a 4.37 ERA in 24 starts. Ortiz was signed by the Angels as an international free agent in 1995. Over the course of his 10 year career he has played in 274 games for the Angels, Reds, Nationals, Twins, Rockies, and Dodgers compiling a record of 85-82 with a 4.93 ERA. Ortiz was a member of the Japanese League's Orix Buffaloes during the 2008 season where he made 17 starts and finished with a 4-7 record.
Canadian right-hander Steve Green made 8 starts going 0-4 with a 7.29 ERA. Green a  10th Round pick by the Angels in 1997 made his only Major League appearance in April 2001 at the age of 23, a start in which he allowed 4 hits while walking 6 giving up 2 runs during his 6 innings of work.  He would miss the entire 2002 season after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. Green was a member of Team Canada at both the 2006 & 2009 World Baseball Classic and also the 2008 Olympic team in Beijing.
