2003 Edmonton Trappers (73-69 Record) Affiliation: Montreal Expos
Left-hander Scott Downs made 43 starts with the Trappers in 2 seasons with the team. He assembled a record of 18-15 with a 3.88 ERA. The former 3rd round pick of the Cubs in the 1997 draft and come to the Expos via a July 2000 trade for veteran outfielder Rondell White. Downs has appeared in 379 games in the Majors and has a record of 27-28 with a 3.79 ERA and 16 saves over his 9 year career as a member of the Cubs, Expos, and Blue Jays. He currently is a member of the Angels bullpen after signing as a free agent in December 2010.
Outfielder Terrmel Sledge (Sledge Hammer) played in 131 games, batting .324 with 22 HRs and 92 RBIs. Formerly an 8th round pick by the Mariners in the 1999 draft, he was acquired by the Expos as the player to be named later from the August 2000 trade for catcher Chris Widger. Sledge went on to play in 291 games in the Majors as a member of the Expos/Nationals, and Padres. He hit .247 with 25 HRs and 100 RBIs during his 4 year career. Most recently Sledge has spent 3 seasons (2008-2010) playing in Japan as a member of the Pacific League’s Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters & Central Leagues Yokohama BayStars. During his time in Japan, Sledge has hit .268 with 71 HRs and 235 RBIs.
Korean right-hander Sun-Woo Kim made 22 starts for the Trappers in 2003, posting a record of 10-8 with a 5.03 ERA. Originally signed by the Red Sox in 1997 as an international free agent, Kim was traded to the Expos in July 2002, along with fellow Korean right-hander Seung Song in exchange for veteran outfielder Cliff Floyd. During his 6 years in the Majors Kim compiled a record of 13-13 with a 5.31 ERA over 118 games as a member of the Red Sox, Expos/Nationals, Rockies, and Reds.
