2001 Edmonton Trappers

2001 Edmonton Trappers (60-83 Record) Affiliation:  Minnesota Twins

Catcher Matt LeCroy spent 2 seasons with the Trappers hitting .335 with 32 HR and 130 RBIs. The former supplemental 1st round pick of the Twins in 1997 played in 476 games hitting .260 with 60 HR and driving in 218 runs as a member of the Twins and Nationals. In the 2011 season LeCroy will be the manager of the Carolina League’s Potomac Nationals (High A- affiliate of the Washington Nationals). He spent the 2009 & 2010 seasons as the manager of the South Atlantic League’s Hagerstown Suns (Low A- affiliate of Washington). 

Casey Blake appeared in 220 games for the Trappers over 2 seasons hitting .309 with 29 HR and 107 RBIs. The former 7th round pick of the Blue Jays in the 1997 came to the Twins via waivers in May 2000. In his 12 year Major League career he has played for the Blue Jays, Twins, Orioles, Indians, and Dodgers hitting a combined .264 with 163 HRs and 590 RBIs.  



Switch hitting outfielder Bobby Kielty played in 96 games for the Trappers (94 in 2001) and hit .290 with 12 HRs and 50 RBIs. Kielty signed with the Twins in 1999 as an amateur free agent and went on to play parts of 7 seasons in the Majors, appearing in 599 games while hitting  .254 with 53 dingers and driving in 253 runs. He played for the Twins, Blue Jays, Athletics, and Red Sox (where he was a member of the 2007 World Champs).

 Left-hander J.C Romero pitched in 12 games for the Trappers posting a record of 3-3 with a 3.68 ERA. Formerly a 21st round pick by the Twins in the 1997 Draft, Romero has gone on to make 628 appearances in the Majors as a member of the Twins, Angels, Red Sox, and Phillies while posting a combined record of 33-28 with a 4.08 ERA.
